6 Point NFL 2 team teasers by Pat Rethore
Something your average bettor might be overlooking is a 6 pt. teaser in the NFL (2 teamer).
Most sportsbooks you only lay 11-10 on a 2 teamer which is the same as a straight bet. One thing a lot of bettors do not know is that you can have a loser and still get your money back.
If one of your 2 picks lands on the number (example you have +10 on the Cowboys and they lose 24-14) you will get your money back no matter what your other selection did. It could lose or win it doesn’t matter, you get a refund.
It is impossible to have a one team teaser. I ran sportsbooks for over 10 years and the amount of money the book got back because people did not know they got their money back was always in the high thousands. The sportsbooks do not advertise this information so people think once they get a loser they are done.
The key to picking a winning teaser bet is the number. I want to see what number I am getting before even looking at the team. There are certain numbers I don’t like. 3 is a bad number to tease up or down.
I do like underdogs especially if it is a 8 or a 9 point spread.
I like to tease favorites down from 6 or 6.5 to pickem.
Teasers can be very profitable if you pick and choose. You can’t play every game.
Why do most sportsbooks not take teasers during the playoffs? If it was profitable, they would book them.
This week I like the Vikings + 8.5 + 14.5 with the Cowboys +4.5 + 10.5.
A lot of points for 2 quality teams. Remember it is all about the number.
